Why the agent matters more than the product
Chinese marketplaces like Taobao, Weidian and 1688 do not ship to Europe and do not take a European card. The agent solves both problems: it buys the item in China with its own account, receives it at its warehouse, photographs the exact item you bought, and only then ships it to you. A bad agent turns a good find into a bad month. A good one is boring in the best way: the item arrives, matches the photos, and you never think about it again. Here is how to find the good ones.
Step 1 — Define what you buy
Different agents are strong in different niches, so start with your own cart:

Step 4 — Check storage and consolidation

Red flags that mean “walk away”
- No QC photos before international shipping.
- No fee transparency: the fee should be a visible line item before you pay.
- Payment outside the platform: bank transfer to a person, or crypto sent to a “seller” on Discord.
- “1:1” or quality guarantees: no honest agent promises exactness, and nobody can promise what customs will do.
- Strangers on Telegram offering 50% off the official price — impersonation scams.
