ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit is developed and maintained by RepsFinder (qualityrepsfinder.com). This policy explains what the extension stores, the permissions it requests, and how your data is handled. Short version: everything stays in your browser, and nothing is sent to our servers.

1. What the extension is

ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that helps you buy products from Chinese marketplaces through shopping agents. It detects products on Weidian, Taobao, Tmall and 1688, converts product links into agent links with your affiliate code included, removes risk reminder popups, compares agents, opens QC photos and converts prices.

2. Information the extension stores

The extension saves the following information only locally in your browser, using the chrome.storage.local API:

  • Your default agent preference (for example Kakobuy or USFans) and your settings, such as the affiliate links toggle.
  • A link conversion counter: the number of links you have converted.
  • The date of your last conversion, used to show simple usage statistics in the popup.

We do not collect, store or transmit personal data, browsing history, page content, passwords, banking information or any personally identifiable information to external servers.

3. Information we do not collect

  • No account is required, and no account data is processed.
  • No browsing history is recorded or sent anywhere.
  • No analytics, telemetry or user tracking is included in the extension.
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties.

4. Permissions and why they are needed

  • activeTab: read the address of the tab you are on, only to detect whether it is a Weidian, Taobao, Tmall or 1688 product page. It does not read page content or your history.
  • storage: save your settings and the local counters described above in your browser. Nothing syncs to external servers.
  • clipboardWrite: copy the converted link when you click “Copy”. It never reads your clipboard.
  • declarativeNetRequest: modify HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, Referer) only on the marketplaces (weidian.com, taobao.com, tmall.com, 1688.com) and on the shopping-agent sites the extension supports (USFans, Kakobuy, Joyagoo, Hipobuy, Litbuy, Oopbuy, FansBuy), so product pages and panels load consistently. It does not affect any other website and does not intercept personal data.

The extension also has access to:

  • Marketplace sites (weidian, taobao, tmall, 1688) to show the product panel.
  • Agent sites (USFans, Kakobuy, Joyagoo, Hipobuy, Litbuy, Oopbuy, FansBuy and similar) to show agent helpers on product pages.
  • Reddit and Yupoo: to add QC photo shortcuts on community and gallery pages.
  • Link shorteners (tb.cn, youshop10, dw4.me, t.cn, bit.ly and similar): to resolve shortened product links you paste into the converter.
  • open.er-api.com: a public exchange-rate service used to convert prices. Only the currency type is requested; no personal data is sent.

5. Affiliate links and third parties

The agent links generated by this extension are affiliate links and include your affiliate code. If you buy through them, the agent may pay RepsFinder a commission at no extra cost to you. This is what keeps the extension free. The destination agent sites have their own privacy policies, which you can consult on their websites. We do not share any personal information with them or with any other third party.

6. Data storage and deletion

All extension data is stored locally in your browser:

  • It is not synced with external servers and not shared between devices.
  • It remains on your computer until you uninstall the extension, clear site data in Chrome settings, or delete the extension storage from chrome://extensions/.

7. Security

The extension uses Manifest V3 (the current Chrome extension platform), requests only the minimum permissions it needs, has no communication with our own backend servers, and contains no user tracking. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Your rights

As a user you can:

  • Access your data: view the stored statistics from the extension popup.
  • Delete your data: uninstall the extension or clear its storage from chrome://extensions/.
  • Opt out: disable or uninstall the extension at any time.

Under the GDPR (and the CCPA where applicable) you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection over personal data. Because the extension does not process personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to export or delete remotely; everything can be managed from your own browser.

9. Legal compliance

This extension is designed to comply with the Chrome Web Store policies, the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) and Spanish data protection legislation. We do not collect personal data as defined by the GDPR, therefore no explicit consent is required to process personal information.

10. Minors

The extension is not directed at children under 16. We do not intentionally collect information from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help you remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in the extension features, legal requirements or privacy best practices. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date on this page. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
