RepsFinder Helper Chrome Extension

RepsFinder Helper ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed to streamline shopping on Chinese marketplaces (Weidian, Taobao, 1688, Tmall, JD.com). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Data Collection

RepsFinder Helper stores the following information exclusively on your local browser using Chrome's storage.local API:

• Affiliate code — Your shopping agent referral code (set by you in extension settings)
• Preferred agents — Your selected purchasing agents for link conversion
• Currency preferences — Your preferred display currency for price comparisons
• Size preferences — Your region (CN/US/EU/UK) for size chart conversions
• Price alerts — Products you're tracking with target prices (stored locally)
• Link conversion count — Total number of URLs converted using the extension

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• ✗ Personal identification (name, email, address)
• ✗ Browsing history or website visits
• ✗ Passwords or login credentials
• ✗ Payment or banking information
• ✗ Location or GPS data
• ✗ Cookies or tracking identifiers
• ✗ Any data from websites you visit (other than the product URL you choose to convert)

3. How We Use Data

All locally stored data is used exclusively to provide the extension's features:

• Link conversion — Your affiliate code is appended to converted product links when you click the convert button
• Currency conversion — Your preferred currency is used for real-time price comparisons
• Size charts — Your size region preferences power the built-in size conversion tables
• Price alerts — Tracked products and target prices are matched against current prices
• Usage statistics — Link conversion count is displayed in the extension popup for your reference

4. Extension Permissions

RepsFinder Helper requests the following Chrome permissions for specific, limited purposes:

activeTab

Purpose: Detect product URLs on the web page you're currently viewing on supported marketplaces (Weidian, Taobao, 1688, Tmall, JD.com).

What it does NOT do: Does not read page content, does not track browsing history, does not access other tabs.

storage

Purpose: Save your preferences (affiliate code, currency, agents, price alerts) locally on your browser using chrome.storage.local.

What it does NOT do: Does not sync data with external servers, does not share data with third parties.

scripting

Purpose: Inject the floating "RepsFinder Helper" button on supported marketplace product pages for quick access to link conversion and tools.

What it does NOT do: Does not modify page content, does not read form data or sensitive information.

clipboardWrite

Purpose: Copy converted links to your clipboard when you click the "Copy" button.

What it does NOT do: Does not read your clipboard content — only writes when you explicitly request it.

declarativeNetRequest

Purpose: Modify HTTP headers to enable access to Chinese marketplace content that may have geographic restrictions.

What it does NOT do: Does not intercept personal data, does not modify page content, does not affect non-marketplace websites.

5. Third-Party Services

Currency exchange rates — The extension fetches real-time exchange rates from public currency APIs to convert prices. These requests are anonymous and contain no personal information.

Shopping agents — When you convert a link, the generated URL redirects to your configured purchasing agent (e.g., Kakobuy, USFans) with your affiliate code. These agents have their own privacy policies.

No other third-party services are used. No analytics, no advertising networks, no tracking scripts.

6. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored locally on your browser using Chrome's built-in storage.local API:

• Data never leaves your device
• Data is not synced between devices
• Data is automatically removed when you uninstall the extension
• You can clear data at any time via Chrome Settings → Extensions → RepsFinder Helper → Clear data

7. Price Alerts

Price alerts are processed entirely locally. The extension periodically checks saved product prices against your target price. No product data or alert information is sent to any external server.

8. Your Rights

Since RepsFinder Helper does not collect or store any personal data on external servers:

• Access: All your data is visible in the extension settings and popup
• Delete: Uninstall the extension or clear storage from Chrome's extension settings
• Opt out: Disable or uninstall the extension at any time — no data persists beyond your browser
• Transparency: The extension's source code is inspectable via Chrome's developer tools

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the extension's functionality. Updates will be published on this page with the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through the Chrome Web Store listing.
